Identify the generation, not just the screen size
Open Settings → General → About and note Model Name, Model Number and capacity. Tap Model Number if necessary to reveal the A-number. Similar-looking iPads can contain different chips and displays, so a model number is more helpful than color alone.
Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi + Cellular
Tell us whether your iPad has cellular connectivity, the storage capacity and whether a carrier balance or account restriction remains. Do not include a SIM account number or other private billing information in your request.
Describe the screen and accessories
Mention touch-screen problems, bright spots, bent frames, non-working buttons and charging issues. If an Apple Pencil or keyboard is included, name its model separately. Accessories do not automatically create a specific increase in value.
Prepare an iPad for transfer
Back up important files and photos, remove work or school management with the organization's help, and remove Find My using your own Apple Account. A device still assigned to an organization may not be eligible until properly released.

Can I sell a school-managed iPad?
Only if you lawfully own it and the organization has removed its management and assignment. A factory reset alone does not remove organizational enrollment.
