Does a Cracked Screen Reduce iPhone Resale Value?
A cracked display can affect function, repair work and resale eligibility. Here is how to describe damage clearly when requesting a quote.
Updated

Glass damage and display damage are different
A fine crack with a working display is not the same as missing glass, black patches, lines, flickering or a dead touch area. Describe what you can observe without pressing damaged glass or using a device that is unsafe to handle.
Check for related faults safely
If safe, note whether touch input, Face ID, front camera and brightness work. Mention frame bending and back-glass damage separately. If the phone is hot, swollen or shedding glass, stop using it and seek safe handling advice.
Repair before sale is not always economical
A repair costs money and does not guarantee an equal increase in an offer. Ask for an as-is evaluation and compare it with a real repair estimate. Repair quality and replacement-part information may also matter to the next buyer.
What to include in your request
Name the model, explain where the crack is, state whether the display responds and mention any repair history. A damage description is an invitation to assess the device, not a promise that every broken phone will be purchased.
